BRUDEPARET FORTELLER: "A lot of our friends already know we met six years ago, in the summer of 2006. The first question we usually get is, "Why did it take four years to actually date?”  If you ask Rob, he’ll say, “an 8-hour time difference and an 11-hour flight.”

On a trip to London (from Kate's then-hometown of San Francisco), an evening of watermelon martinis and dancing at Boujis led to Kate and Rob's first meeting through mutual friends.  The following weekend, fate brought them together again in St. Tropez for a whirlwind party that sealed the friendship and kept the two intermittently in touch for the next four years.

Despite the holiday coming to an end, the seeds were sown for what ended up being a truly international love story, full of planes, glamorous destinations, and finally, 2 weddings on 2 different continents. To alleviate the travel burden on their families, the couple split their wedding festivities into two parts: an intimate, family-only celebration in New York City, followed by a friends-only celebration and ski weekend in the stunning village of Megeve in the French Alps.

Friends from across the globe - San Francisco, Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, New York, London and Paris - gathered two months later for their own festivities at modern chalet-style resort Alpaga, overlooking the picturesque, cobblestone village of Megeve.  The weekend began with a Thursday evening local Savoyard wine tasting alongside traditional raclette, followed by a fantastic evening of speeches and local Savoyard cuisine on Friday overlooking Megeve at Le Refuge. Saturday's candlelit ceremony (officiated by a mutual friend), preceded a 5-course dinner carefully prepared by the resident star chef Christophe Schuffenecker (formerly of San Francisco's 3-Michelin Star Aqua, now Michael Mina), which included a French wine pairing, cheeses, pink spun-sugar roses (to match the flowers), and a traditional French wedding "croquembouche" at each table.  Dancing lasted into the night, in typical French fashion, until 4:30am.

"The best part about throwing two weddings is being able to focus on family - and then friends - in two different settings.  That, and watching our friends from around the world meet and get to know each other...it was amazing to see the people we love have such a great time, forming new friendships and keeping them, independent of us.  That's how we knew the weekend was a real success."

This Is Horrible! - Relief At Last!

"While I am unalterably opposed to corset wearing, I do not hesitate to say that the women who wear them will do well to substitute the Q.D. Clasp for those now in use." - Annie Jenness Miller, Dress Reformer.

I learned that the movement started with corsets and underwear because it "could be modified without exposing the wearer to social ridicule". And did you know that "In the 19th century, poor women were known to wear corsets "boned" with rope, rather than steel or bone, to facilitate work in the field."

Elegant og Sofistikert Bryllup av Rares ION

MODERNE ELEGANSE

FOTOTGRAFEN FORTELLER: As a wedding photographer we often happen to participate in 'blind dates' ( most contracts are signed via email, Skype, etc.). The wedding photo story of this couple is very beautiful, and I think that nothing in life is random. Shortly after Anthony's July wedding at Mogosoaia Palace, Bucharest - Andrew called me to talk about a weekend in September where he would be the groom. Georgiana will not ever get bored in his company ( shown even in photos ), because Andrew can be found in the definition of the word "merry". I imagine that a man so jolly accompanied by a bride and wedding so well organized can almost not be outdone.

As Georgiana had the same last name as mine ( a story only ) was another detail that I felt close to my heart. The wedding would also be held in Mogosoaia, a perfect location in terms of view of from a wedding photographer.

We met in Bucharest the day before the wedding and we began to organize the photographic standpoint. If Andrew is that guy full of life and just the thought of him entertain me; Georgiana was the epiphany of delicate elegance. It was chemistry between them as a couple and us, at first sight, and I strongly believe that emotions are captured photographically beautifully when this bond exists!

We really liked the well organized wedding, their family, print & decor, the religious ceremony with the sky changing, magical texture a few times, a helicopter above the ceremony, and all the love and 'Love stories' captured during the reception.

Georgiana & Andrei; dear parents and guests attended, thank you for the opportunity and we wish you all the best in Cluj!
