Beautiful Bridal Attendants
As I was walking through the lobby on New Year's Eve, I noticed these four beautiful young women who were obviously waiting for 'their' bride. I asked if I could blog them, and they happily agreed.
I hope you enjoy this candid look at the lobby and life of the Hawthorne Hotel.

Dull, dull, dull.
My last post for 2008 (how did the year pass so quickly?).
Yes I know, no sappy Christmas post or anything like that...it's just not me. And I was too busy having fun to bother.
Whatever, I thought we should put up at least one semi-recent picture. Here it is, Ozie managed to capture the more pensive side of me without me knowing.
I rather like it.

Opps...
I am sorry, really I am. Blogging has been the farthest thing from my mind this past month. if you only knew....hahaha all the crazy stuff.
My brother coming here, (man that totally rocked), bad news, good news, more bad news, satisfactions, cake layers, (when's the famous cerry getting here?) school, the rain in spain stays mainly in the plain, (seriously though, it's been to much rain for spain), psyched out ppl into exams, (thank God that's over), and maybe maybe maybe something really cool around the corner, that just might happen, (stop squeezing my arm Ozie).
So yeah, imagine all that.
Believe it or not I don't have a single picture to document all this psychoness, and that sucks.
All I have to say is this: Katarina, will you marry me?

Unusual Elements Add to the Special Flavor of Kelli and Brendan's Wedding
Here in the first photo you see Kelli holding the Memory Board that her guests will sign as they arrive at the reception after her wedding here at the Hawthorne Hotel tonight. She included our Hawthorne Hotel Winter Postcard as the centerpiece of her memory board, a sweet touch that made us smile!
We also love the favors that she made, seen in the second photo. They are so cute.
The final photo is of her wedding program, which also includes the same image as her memory board, of the Hawthorne Hotel in a winter greens wreath. A perfect touch to tie things all together.
Thanks for sharing your nice ideas with the Hawthorne Hotel Wedding Blog audience, Kelli. We are happy to be a part of your life.

Happy Anniversary, Joe and Ann!
We received the following thank you note and photo of a wedding which took place one year ago on the same day that Joe and Ann came to celebrate their anniversary with brunch for themselves and friends and family. To better read the note, just click on the image to enlarge it.
Today this very happy family came to our Sunday Jazz Brunch in Nathaniel's to celebrate the First Anniversary of Joe Wojtowicz and Ann Gilmor (pictured below). They were married right here in the Hawthorne Hotel last year, and could think of no better place to celebrate their anniversary than with us.
We love it that our guests are able to establish such a connection with us, and are able to continue their life celebrations by coming back to the Hawthorne. This is something that you cannot do when you have your wedding in a catering-only function hall or other historic home, since there is nothing there that is open to the public. While we realize this is not going to be the sole determining factor when you choose where to hold your wedding reception, it is just another little thing that sets the Hawthorne Hotel apart from all the other places you can choose -- we do have a way for you to celebrate your special anniversaries. Whether a romantic dinner for two, a big family brunch, an overnight getaway, or just a casual lunch in our Tavern, there are many options here at the Hawthorne Hotel.
We hope you will choose us for your most special day -- and for many celebrations beyond this one.

The Ballroom in its Most Classic Holiday Look
Here are some photos of Friday night's wedding in the Ballroom. I took them because I thought the Ballroom looked its CLASSIC BEST -- the Christmas wreaths with greens, lights, and bows make a lovely background, the chair covers and their gold bows echoed the bows in the windows, the dancefloor was gleaming in the candlelight. It just seemed perfect.
I thought you would enjoy seeing it too.

Hi
Yeah, I've been a deliquent blogger, (hahaha, I love that name, so retared). But I'm back, and FULL of excuses. Which I won't unleash on you, any of you. But since peeps have been yelling at me to update and yaddyyaddyyadda, here I am. Racking my brian for something interesting, I find nothing. I would post pictures, but I have to get them off the camera, and I'm to lazy now. So I shall leave you with this from last satruday...
Me and Mishu saw some emo hipp-hoppers in Valencia, and I'm like, "Man those emos are so sad!" And Mishu's like, laughing and yelling in my ear..."Hahahahah the emos are so sad! Get it get it?"
LOL.
Whatever.

Tonight's Wedding Tasting
Once you book your wedding here at the Hawthorne Hotel, or Hawthorne Catering, you will be invited to a Tasting for your wedding. This was tonight's tasting. I took photos of some of the elements so that the couples didn't have to remember everything.
I hope you enjoy getting an insider's look at what we do here at the Hawthorne Hotel.

One Year Later . . .
Here you see Atina and Brian, who were married here at the Hawthorne Hotel one year ago.
They came back this week to celebrate their first anniversary, and we offered to take these photos since they forgot their camera. I had them pose outside under our awning, like the wedding photo you see of them one year ago.
. . . and still madly in love!

A Beautiful Couple Sends Us a Beautiful Note
Flower Girl?
If that is what the tee-shirt says, it must be true, right?
This past weekend we had yet another reason to be happy that we are a pet-friendly hotel here at the Hawthorne -- "Miss Dottie", the Flower Girl, was able to participate in Wendy and Don's wedding here in the Library of the Hawthorne Hotel.
Rarely does the photographer get into the photos, for obvious reasons, but it is apparent that David LaChappelle really enjoyed getting to be involved in this wedding, so we snapped his photo for this blog post. David is a great photographer, so I'm sure his photos of this unusual flower girl are better than these.
Wendy looks ready to go, but "Miss Dottie" seems to be on strike.
A face only a 'mother' could love?
I hope you enjoy this peek at yet another unusual wedding here at the Hawthorne Hotel.

Everybody's Fool
SUCH a nice song. I think it's got a LOT of truth to it, and the video really drives the point home.
And of course, it shall always hold a place in my heart after singing it on karaoke with Melllllllllllll!

What if Bible characters keept blogs?
Absolutely brilliant piece of work, I couldn't stop laughing....here goes. (no, as much as I would wish it, I didn't write this)
Most prominent Bible characters had pretty crazy lives; a day in the life of, say, one of the twelve disciples, was probably far more exciting than a day in mine - yet I'm the one blogging on my personal journal about what I ate for breakfast or what time I went to bed. Can you imagine Peter's blog if he'd been able to keep one? Maybe it'd go something like this:
Me and my big mouth
Note to self #47: Do not call Jesus out when he predicts his death. Yeah, he did it again...but this time, when I told him to chill out, he looked me straight in the eye and said, "Satan get behind me!" Satan?!?! Uh...geez...my bad.....

If Bible characters used blogs, whose would you read?
(I'd subscribe to Joseph's: "Potiphar's wife keeps staring at my six-pack. Awkwaaard.")

You Traitor!
Mel....I miss you. I do really. In this short time, we became better friends than what I though we would be. (does belones have something to do with it???) But yeah, I'm happy about it. I promised you a sappy post for your going away, and that's exactly what I'm doing...even though it's slightly late. So whatever you do, just be happy. Have a great time at the wedding and get used to Denmark and all the rest of the stuff you have to get used to. Miss me...okay?
With all my yuckiness,
Achoo.
P.S. Amy says hi to Emily.
P.P.S. Eat dinner at deacent times.

This must Be Heaven
Geeeee, so very pretty. Sigh, if only I could have them it would be a dream come true (not actually but you know what I mean). I catch myself sometimes seriously thinking of spending all my savings on these things...as if I didn't have enough notebooks already.
But guys, now you know what present would make me really happy. :D

The Ballroom Looks Beautiful in Blue
While not the color one would normally choose to use in our Ballroom, these photos show that this room is just neutral enough to work with virtually any color palette.
The navy blue satin bows, blue hydrangeas, and blue fondant ribbon on the wedding cake all coordinate so nicely.
The use of alternating tall arrangements, with the lower arrangements on some tables gave a nice energy to the room.
This was the charming favor, given to each guest. What a nice thought!
I can't wait to see what you choose for your wedding.
Juli
