Fashion Trend

Fashion Trend, Fashion Trend definition, Fashion Trend 2013

Fashion Trend is A "Trend" in fashion indicates the acceptance of a "new" design, usually related to clothing. "New designs" are rarely "New". Most often they are a re-introduction of something from the past. IE, short skirts, long skirts. When a Clothing Designer introduces a new fashion, it may be accepted or rejected by the buying public.

Fashion Trend definition A "Trend" occurs when a new design is accepted and sells in sufficient quantity in some test markets, and then creates a demand from consumers across a broader market.

For example, in the US, many new fashions first take hold in California. In Hollywood many new designs are first introduced and Californians often are the first to accept some new designs. It's been historical that most new fashions move Eastward from California. This not only true of clothing but in many other fields. It has happened in floor covering as well, and in most products that involve color. As these new concepts move Eastward, they are referred to as "Trends".

Fashion Trend 2013 We've been seeing stripes for a while now on designer runways and in stores, and they're back for spring and summer 2013. Designers have used stripes in many different ways for the season, including fat horizontal rugby-inspired stripes, vertical stripes, and chevron stripes.

Pictured above at left is a navy and white striped swimsuit by American designer Tommy Hilfiger, who traditionally favors the red, white, and blue color palette. Here the stripes are set at different angles, making for an interesting one-piece swimsuit. At center, Oscar de la Renta presents a black and white striped runway gown with horizontal stripes on the bodice and chevron stripes on the floor-length skirt. At left Michael Kors plays with another trend for spring the bare midriff in a matching red and black two-piece top and skirt ensemble, featuring horizontal stripes, which are wider on top than on the skirt.
