Darice and Quincy's Sweet Wedding in my Wedding Garden!

Darice and Quincy are the sweetest couple! We made all the arrangements for their wedding on May 24, 2014 in my wedding garden by email so I met them in person for the first time on their wedding day. Of course we included Darice's son, Josh, in the wedding and he was one happy teenage boy!
Josh escorts his beautiful mother from the family room across the deck into the wedding garden where Quincy and I and all their guests eagerly awaited her.
Their photographer, Kate Pope of Craven Creative Photography, is no stranger to my garden. I think she may have done about 5 weddings here now. She is so good to work with and her work is fabulous.
A couple of latecomers appeared at the gate and I invited them in.
Darice and Quincy were so happy to be getting married. Their eyes were filled with love.
They made their promises of marriage then it was time for the rings.
"With this ring, I marry you and pledge my heart to you."
Then the family unity sand ceremony.....Josh waits patiently while his mom and Quincy pour in part of their sand. Then he poured his sand in with theirs symbolizing the family unity.
I was so thrilled to have the privilege of pronouncing Quincy and Darice husband and wife!
Such a sweet kiss! I think it was the second or third try though!
The young lady who stood up for Darice is her niece, Mahogany.
During the ceremony we did a blessing for Josh. Quincy said some powerful words to him about how much he loved him and how happy he is to embrace him as his son. Then they gave him a token of their love as a memento of this sweet occasion. it is a necklace with his name, the date and a cross.
I could tell that Josh was thrilled to have Quincy for his father!
The whole gang!
Darice and Quincy, you are a fabulous couple. I am so happy that you found each other and are now officially a family of three. I wish you much happiness, contentment, and satisfaction in your lives.

Sweet Monday Morning Wedding for Rachael and Will in my Wedding Garden!

Rachael's mother, Cynthia, emailed me on January 13th to see if I was available for Rachael and Will's wedding on April 8th 2013 and if they could get married in my wedding garden. Monday morning weddings are not popular so I was wide open! We reserved the date and time on my calendar then I began working on creating the ceremony with the couple. (We met in person on March 4th and discovered that Rachael is dear friends with Jonell and Scott, another couple I married a few years ago and did a baby blessing ceremony for a few months ago.) Will had originally thought he wanted the Episcopalian vows in the ceremony but after seeing the ones I offered, he liked them better! The big day arrived and the weather was wonderful. The garden was greening out and although the azalea blossoms had not reached their full glory, it was a tranquil spot surrounded by nature.
Rachael's father is deceased so her Uncle David escorted her from the family room to the garden.
View from the upper deck.
Not only is Rachael stunningly beautiful, she is smart and clever too. She is both a nurse and an esthetician. I was fascinated with her lovely dress. It is strapless but she found this beautiful silk chiffon scarf which she fashioned into a lovely drape around her shoulders. See how she gathered it up in the back then pinned it to the front. Not knowing if the dress came that way or she created it herself, I had to ask her! She also created her bouquet with pretty feather butterflies in it and put butterflies in her hair. Nice theme!
Rachael and Will were both married briefly before but this time they knew they had found their soulmate! They met on e-Harmony and if you have read prior posts on this blog, you will know that I have the utmost respect for and confidence in e-Harmony and their phenomenal ability to match people up.  Those e-Harmony couples who have chosen to take my Marriage Optimization program (pre-marital counseling) have scored off the chart in compatibility every time! So, I have no doubt Rachael and Will are well matched for each other and it gives me great pleasure to marry them.
Thanking their parents and family gathered here.
 "Do you, Will, ............"
 "Do you, Rachael,..........."
"These beautiful rings are your first gifts to each other as husband and wife and represent your unending love and devotion....."
Kate Pope of CravenCreative Photography was on hand to document this beautiful moment.
"I place this ring on your finger and my heart in your hand. I have no greater gift."
"By the love that has brought you here today, by the vows you have exchanged, and by the integrity of your commitment, in the presence of these witnesses, it is my pleasure and my honor to now pronounce you husband and wife! Rachel, you may kiss the groom!"
I have a secret! This is not the first kiss but one staged for the camera!
 Happy smiles!
 A family photo......
Rachael and Will, you are a beautiful couple and I am so happy for you that your lives include each other. Thank you for letting me be part of your wedding day! Go forth in love, peace and joy!

Fun Wedding for Alexa and Chris in my Wedding Garden!

When Nicole, owner of Nicole Faby Photography, and I work together at weddings we don't have time to visit and get to know one another although I admire her work. It was such a pleasant surprise when she emailed me one day this month and asked me if I could officiate the wedding of her sister, Alexa, and her fiance, Chris, fairly soon and if I could suggest a venue for a small private wedding. Of course I told her about my wedding garden and she thought that was perfect. We settled on Sunday morning August 26, 2012. She gifted my services to Alexa and Chris and put me in touch with them. I did not meet them until the wedding day but got to know them as we put together a sweet ceremony for them. The big day arrived and Kate, one of our photographers, was the first to arrive, followed shortly by the guests, the groom and his family and then the bride and her entourage, including Nicole, who was not wielding a camera for the occasion and took the day off!
The sand ceremony was set up out in the garden. There was sand for the bride and the groom and for the baby girl they are expecting in October. Hers is the bright pink sand, of course!
Our little flower girl, Sloan, Nicole's youngest child whose first birthday celebration followed the wedding, is held by her Aunt Devon, the wife of Nicole's brother.
Nicole, Sherry, sister of the groom, and Devon are our bridesmaids and all were dressed in coral and cowboy boots!
Katelyn, Nicole's oldest daughter, is also a flower girl and seems a bit overwhelmed by all the activities!
Cameron, nephew of the groom, is the one to carry the sign which said "Here Comes the Bride" before it all got wiped off with the handling!
Luke is our ring bearer. He is Nicole's son and is pictured here with Lisa, his grandmother, Nicole's mother.
Sloan really preferred to crawl in but as Katelyn tried to explain to her, it does not work in a long dress!
Here comes our bride escorted in by her father, Mike!
We get settled in for the ceremony.
Chris is tall as a tree!
We also included a blessing for the unborn baby during the wedding ceremony.
"With this ring, I thee wed!"
All her "sisters" congratulate the bride!
 Alexa's family.....
Chris' family drove up from South Carolina for the wedding. Chris was so glad his grandfather, Clyde, was present.
Alexa and Chris, may you have all the best always! I will be watching Facebook for the big birth announcement and photos of your little girl in October!
I had a fun time chatting with Clyde, Chris' grandfather. He is a poet and a singer and should be published! I think he had a real good time at this wedding and was glad he made the trip.
Our photographers: Kate with CravenCreativePhoto and Chas with Chas Birdwell Photography. They were great and spent a lot of time after the wedding getting all kinds of great shots!
